Hezbollah launches hundreds of projectiles into Israel as IDF bombards northern Gaza. Catch up here
The Israeli military reported that 320 projectiles fired by Hezbollah crossed into Israel over the Yom Kippur weekend, which began around 6 p.m. local time on Friday.
On Saturday, Hezbollah confirmed it continued launching rockets into Israel, targeting what it described as a “gathering of Israeli enemy forces” in villages just south of the border.
According to Israeli authorities, three men sustained mild shrapnel injuries from the rocket fire coming from Lebanon. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for many of these attacks.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to hold a cabinet meeting on Sunday, an Israeli official told CNN. This meeting comes as Israel intensifies its military operations in Gaza, issuing evacuation orders and blocking food supplies.
Food Insecurity for Palestinians:
- The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reports that over the past year, 90% of children in Gaza have experienced “food poverty.” On Friday, the World Food Programme (WFP) announced that no food has entered northern Gaza since early October, placing 1 million people at risk of hunger.
Closed Health Care Centers:
- Nearly half of the primary health care centers in conflict zones in Lebanon have closed due to escalating violence, according to World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
October 7 Attack Report:
- A report by The New York Times claims that Hamas planned the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel for more than two years, attempting to persuade Iran and Hezbollah to participate. The report, based on alleged minutes from secret Hamas meetings found on a computer seized by the Israeli military, has been strongly denied by both Iran and Hezbollah.
