Trump claims without evidence that Democrats are trying to cheat in the election
Former President Donald Trump once again accused Democrats of attempting to cheat in the 2024 election on Monday, without providing any evidence.
Trump, who has consistently misrepresented the outcome of the 2020 election he lost, continues to cast doubt on the integrity of the upcoming election. He has made unfounded claims regarding widespread voter fraud in 2020.
“We have some of the biggest crowds you’ve ever seen. I was in California. I’d love to have God come down and be the vote counter just for one day to see how well we do in California,” he said, referring to the predominantly Democratic state.
“Have you ever heard the saying that the vote counter is far more important than the candidate? Unfortunately, we can’t let that happen. We’ve got to take it back,” he declared at a rally in Greenville, North Carolina.
In his speech, Trump insisted that Democrats are trying to cheat in the 2024 election, asserting, “but they’re not going to get away with it.”
He then turned to Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley, asking, “How are you doing, are they cheating, Michael? They’re trying, but are they? They’re not going to get away with it, right?”
Trump then addressed the crowd again: “He said no. That’s why I had him. They didn’t get away with it in this state. They got away with it in plenty of places.”
At a rally in North Carolina, Trump meandered through various topics while discussing Elon Musk.
Former President Donald Trump shared a series of meandering anecdotes on Monday while discussing Elon Musk’s support for his candidacy at a rally in Greenville, North Carolina.
“I love Elon, by the way,” Trump said, praising Musk for making “a great car” but acknowledging that Teslas may not suit everyone.
“Some people prefer gasoline-powered vehicles,” he noted. “And we have a lot of gasoline right under there. Others want hybrids.”
Trump then expressed his dislike for hydrogen-fueled cars, graphically illustrating the potential dangers. “You know the story with hydrogen – it’s great until it blows up, and then you’re not recognizable,” he said.
He pointed to a man in the crowd, adding, “Even strong guys like this would call their mom or wife – is that a mom, or whoa? I know them. Very wealthy parents. But your kids wouldn’t be recognizable. Not a good thought. How’s my son doing? Well, he tried the new hydrogen car. It didn’t work out too well.”
Trump then recalled watching one of Musk’s rockets land on TV while he was on an important phone call. “I had the television muted, and I saw this ball of fire coming down, like a 20-story building. I said, ‘Would you do me a favor? Hold on.’ I thought maybe it switched to a movie or something, and I put the phone down. Very important guy, you know what? I never picked it up. He was holding for like 45 minutes. I forgot he was on the line because—”
He then gestured toward the media section, saying, “And now there are these idiots back there who will say he’s cognitively impaired.”
